Our Client is an IT Shared Services supporting an international logistic company. As an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer, you will encompass within development and design the whole 'value-added' chain involved in practically developing and implementing complex solutions that meet the needs of the customer. This includes the analysis of systems and requirements, and the design and build of solutions that may be off-the-shelf or through third-parties.
You are required to solve high complexity technical issues and provide Quality Assurance, Configuration, Testing, Training or Documentation services to implement the final solution within a team of experts.
Experienced in JAVA technologies and its associated frameworks, and Web Services (SOAP & REST) development.

What You Will Do

Participate in resolution on issues of performance, tools, and standards. Where appropriate, you will also present to or influence customer representatives or vendors and resolve issues.

Establish business requirements, concepts and proposals, and providing updates on deliverables.

Coordinate collaboration with external service providers in terms of assembling own or third-party system components.

Customize COTS based on pre-determined parameters, and executes customizing tests.

Document work using the required standards, methods and tools.

Assist in definition, initiation and design of architecture in projects/ programs, and provide expert advice, training and technical assistance to development team, lower level service and support staff.

Depending on experience & seniority, you will potentially lead others in developing innovative solutions to highly complex problems and contribute to your team's professional development.
What You Need:

At least 6 years of experience in software engineering/development with relevant qualifications in IT field.

Experience with professional software engineering best practices for software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.

Experience coding, testing and technical documentation - including front/back end and integration components.

Added advantage: experience to take on a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project, and develop software solutions (team or individual effort) by preparing system requirement specification, systems flow, data usage and work processes.

Experience in documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

Added advantage: Experience building complex & large scale web systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, and experience in communicating with users, technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines.
