Our Client is an IT Shared Services supporting an international logistic company. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Oracle Database Administration (Senior Support Specialist) to join their Infrastructure Operation team!

Infrastructure Operations team runs and maintains the global hosting infrastructure and its components within the ITS datacenters as well as providing countries with remote infrastructure management and support.

Their goal is to ensure that the organization has the right knowledge and capabilities to deliver 1st and 2nd level support for infrastructure, keeping the infrastructure up and running 24x7x365

TEAM INTRODUCTION

As a System Support Specialist in Infrastructure Operation team; we support, maintain and monitor the datacenter infrastructure (Kuala Lumpur, Prague and US) 24 x 7 and ensure that underlying infrastructure (hardware, operating systems, databases and middleware) availability meets the agreed Service Level targets.

At least 5 years working experience as Oracle database administrator with proficiency in scripting (bash, ksh, Python), and experienced with Oracle RMAN Backup & Recovery with Media Manager (Veritas Netbackup). Administrative skills in Linux/Unix is also required.

What You Will Do

Supporting business critical applications running within the area of responsibility of Production Services in ITS globally.

Documenting the best practices and adhering to formal standards and processes, and assessing, developing and implementing the infrastructure and server builds.

Assist with internal projects focused on hardware infrastructure improvement with related activities such as project planning, resource planning, and reporting.

You are responsible to improve system availability with proactive work to avoid outages and performance issues, with particular focus on maintenance services for all infrastructure used by the Operations Centre. This includes O/S (Unix, Windows, Linux) databases (Oracle, Informix, MySQL, Sybase, MSSQL, Teradata, Quest Shareplex, MongoDB, PostgreSQL), Unibol, Storage Area Network, Spoolers etc. The operations tools include HP Open View
Operations, Mercury TOPAZ, and Tivoli Maestro).

You will engage with project management to confirm that infrastructure components meet the acceptance criteria and are to the required standard.

Gathering, assessing, and communicating critical information on a timely basis, by interacting with a broad set of teams.

2) Informix IDS with HDR, CM, ER
3) MongoDB with Replicaset, Shading, Automation Agent, OPS Manager

5) Quest Shareplex Replication
6) PostgreSQL
7) Vertitas Netbackup

What You Need:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience with at least 5 years working experience as Oracle database administrator.

Willing to pick-up multiple database platforms as required (Oracle, Informix, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, ..)

Solid experience in RMAN Backup & Recovery with Veritas Netbackup 7.7

Hands-on experience of Database Backup and restore, full, differential, and log backups, ability to handle a serious DB DR Situation.

Proficiency & Solid skill in scripting (bash, ksh, Python) and administration skills in Linux (RHEL 5 - 7) and ​UNIX (HP-UX 11.11 – 11.31).
