Our Client is an IT Shared Services supporting an international logistic company. Their Infrastructure Operation team is looking for a new team member! Infrastructure Operations team runs and maintains the global hosting infrastructure and its components within the ITS datacenters as well as providing countries with remote infrastructure management and support. Their goal is to ensure that the organization has the right knowledge and capabilities to deliver 1st and 2nd level support for infrastructure, keeping the infrastructure up and fully running.

At least 5 years working experience as a database administrator and competency in: Oracle RMAN, Veritas Backup & Recovery, Linux Administration and proficiency in scripting (bash/ksh/python)

What You Will Do

As part of the System Support Infrastructure Operation team; you will join a team of professionals to support, maintain and monitor the datacenter infrastructure (Kuala Lumpur, Prague and US) and ensure that underlying infrastructure (hardware, operating systems, databases and middleware) availability meets the agreed Service Level targets.

Assessing, developing and implementing the infrastructure and server builds, and gathering, assessing, and communicating critical information on a timely basis, by interacting with a broad set of teams

Acting as an Internal Quality Gate to assist with the execution of Release to Production activities, and assist with internal projects focused on hardware infrastructure improvement with related activities such as project planning, resource planning, and reporting.

You will need to proactively undertake the maintenance and administration of computer hardware, software and operations tools in support of the delivery of the IT service.

You will engage with project management to confirm that infrastructure components meet the acceptance criteria and are to the required standard.

Maintain and help further development of appropriate cost models to reflect changes in technology and provide key input to the overall Charging Model.

You will work as a team to improve system availability with proactive work to avoid outages and performance issues, with particular focus on maintenance services for all infrastructure used by the Operations Centre. This includes:
o O/S (Unix, Windows, Linux)
o Databases (Oracle, Informix, MySQL, Sybase, MSSQL, Teradata, Quest Shareplex, MongoDB, PostgreSQL),
o Unibol (migration tool that migrates System/36 and AS/400 to Unix, Windows, Linux)
o Storage Area Network (SAN) - a network of storage devices that can be accessed by multiple servers or computers, providing a shared pool of storage space.
o Spoolers (utility that regulates data flow by receiving data (as from a word processor), queuing the data in a buffer, and then transmitting it (as to a printer) with increased efficiency.)
o The operations tools include HP Open View (manage applications, device availability, network conditions and status, system performance, service and program maintenance, and storage resources.)
o Mercury TOPAZ: web monitoring tool
o (IBM) Tivoli Maestro: workload scheduler

What You Need:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience.

At least 5 years working experience as a database administrator, and willing to pick up multiple database platforms (Oracle, Informix, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

Solid experience in Oracle RMAN (Recovery Manager) Backup & Recovery with Media Manager (Veritas Netbackup).

Administration skills in Linux (RHEL 5 - 7) and/or UNIX (HP-UX 11.11 – 11.31).

Hands-on experience of Database Backup and restore, full, differential, and log backups, ability to handle a serious DB DR Situation, and proficiency in Active Data Guard Setup, Administration and Troubleshooting.

Clear understanding of high availability environments, RAC & Grid Infra cluster knowledge and Proficiency & Solid skill in scripting (bash, ksh, Python).
